What Major Questions Should You Ask Your Veterinarian About CBD?

Question #3: Is There a Particular Delivery Method Best Suited for My Pet?

Next, you should ask your vet if they think there’s a particular delivery method that’s ideal for your pet’s unique body.  There are lots of hemp-infused pet goods on the market today, each with its own delivery method.  Some pets respond better to edibles such as treats while some find that topicals are the best choice.

Question #4: Is There an Ideal Milligram Strength to Administer to My Pet?

A very important question to ask is whether your vet can recommend a particular milligram strength.  The milligram strength of a CBD product is the number of milligrams of actual hemp extract that’s inside the formula.  Therefore, this determines how much actual CBD and other hemp compounds your pet is getting per dose.  The level of potency that’s best for your pet depends on a lot of things like their condition, their body weight and even their breed.

It’s definitely not unusual for a pet owner to find that their pet responds better to a slightly higher dose than what’s suggested on the product label.  Every pet’s body is different, which means that some pets will just happen to like higher doses of hemp than others.  Ask your vet when it’s a good time to increase the dose if necessary, and how to go about it properly.
